Path homotopy
Builds on Relative homotopyInterval
Definition
Let be a topological space and let be the unit interval. A path in is a continuous map , from to . Let be paths with and . A path homotopy from to is a continuous map such that:
- and for all ;
- and for all .
The paths are path homotopic, written , if a path homotopy exists.
Remarks
A path homotopy is the same as a homotopy relative to . Path homotopy is an equivalence relation on paths from to . Example: in a convex set , the map is a path homotopy, since and . Non-example: in , the loop and the constant loop at are not path homotopic; the fundamental group of the circle tells them apart.

- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
