Definition
Let be a set with a topology and a partial order . The triple is a Priestley space if:
Clause 2 is called the Priestley separation axiom.
Remarks
A Priestley space is Hausdorff and totally disconnected, so its underlying space is a Stone space. Indeed, for , say , the sets and from clause 2 separate and .
Example: a finite poset with the discrete topology. Every subset is clopen, and for the upper set contains but not .
Non-example: the interval with its usual topology and usual order. It is compact, but its only clopen sets are and , so no clopen set separates , and clause 2 fails.
The morphisms of Priestley spaces are the continuous order-preserving maps.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
