Prime ideal of a lattice
Builds on LatticeLattice idealJoin and meetOrder filterDistributive lattice
Remarks
A proper ideal is prime exactly when its complement is a filter; such a filter is called a prime filter. Example: let be a set, , and in the power set of . is an ideal, it is proper since , and if then or . Non-example: in the power set of , the principal ideal is proper but not prime. Indeed lies in it, while neither nor does. In a distributive lattice, if an ideal and a filter are disjoint, then some prime ideal contains and is disjoint from . This is the prime ideal theorem for distributive lattices, and its proof uses a form of the axiom of choice.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
