Reciprocal lattice

Summary

Let Λ\Lambda be a Bravais lattice. Its reciprocal lattice is the set of wave vectors kk for which the plane wave eik⋅xe^{i k \cdot x} has every period in Λ\Lambda. It is again a lattice, and it is the dual lattice of Λ\Lambda scaled by 2π2\pi. Functions with the periodicity of the crystal expand as Fourier series over the reciprocal lattice. In diffraction experiments the sharp peaks occur at points of the reciprocal lattice.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
