Relational structure
Builds on StructureSignatureCartesian product
Definition
Let be a signature with no function symbols and no constant symbols. So each symbol is a relation symbol with an arity . A relational structure of signature is a structure for . Explicitly, it is a pair where is a nonempty set and for each . Here is the Cartesian product of copies of .
Remarks
Example: a simple graph , with the set of pairs such that and are adjacent, is a relational structure with one binary relation.
Non-example: a group is not a relational structure, because its signature has a function symbol. It can be turned into one by replacing with its graph, the ternary relation .
Every structure can be encoded in this way as a relational structure. Some authors allow an empty domain for relational structures.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
