Rindler coordinates

Summary

Rindler coordinates are coordinates on a wedge of Minkowski space adapted to a family of uniformly accelerated observers. They replace the Cartesian time and space coordinates (ct,x)(ct, x) by hyperbolic polar coordinates (ρ,η)(\rho, \eta) with ct=ρsinh⁡ηct = \rho \sinh\eta and x=ρcosh⁡ηx = \rho \cosh\eta. They are the simplest example of a non-inertial frame in special relativity and a model for the region near the horizon of a black hole.
