Definition
Let , let , and let . For a path write . An -Hölder rough path on with values in is a pair of a path and a map such that:
- (Chen's relation) for all ;
- ;
- .
Here is the tensor product, and is identified with the matrices.
Remarks
The map stands for the iterated integral . Clause 2 says that is Hölder continuous with exponent . Example: for a continuously differentiable path , set . Splitting at and writing for gives Chen's relation, and clauses 2 and 3 hold with exponents and . Example: for a Brownian motion , the Itô integrals give a rough path almost surely, for each . Non-example: a smooth path with fails Chen's relation when . The second level is not determined by : if is -Hölder, then also satisfies the three clauses.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
