Definition
A language is in RP if there are a polynomial and a probabilistic Turing machine such that:
- on every input and for every outcome of its coin flips, halts within steps and outputs or ;
- for every , ;
- for every , .
The class co-RP is the class of complements of languages in RP.
Remarks
Example: let be the set of triples of matrices over with . The machine picks a uniform and accepts if . If , it never accepts; if , the matrix has a nonzero row, so for at least half of the vectors . So is in RP.
Non-example: a machine that accepts some with probability fails clause 3, even if its error is small. Such two-sided error is allowed in BPP but not in RP.
The constant in clause 2 can be replaced by any constant in , or by for a polynomial , by independent repetition. Clauses 2 and 3 show that an accepting run exists exactly for , so an accepting sequence of coin flips is a certificate of membership and .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
