Definition
Let be a signature, let be an -structure, and let be an infinite cardinal. The structure is -saturated if the following holds for every set of elements of with . Every complete -type over is realized in . The structure is saturated if it is infinite and -saturated, where is the cardinality of its domain.
Remarks
A -saturated structure also realizes every complete -type over fewer than parameters, for every .
Example: is saturated. A complete -type over a finite set says where lies relative to the elements of . Either equals some , or lies in one of the open intervals cut out by , including the two unbounded ones. Each of these intervals contains a rational number, so the type is realized.
Non-example: the field of algebraic numbers is a model of the theory of algebraically closed fields of characteristic , but it is not -saturated. The set is consistent with its theory over , as shows, and it extends to a complete type. No element of realizes it, since every algebraic number is a root of a nonzero integer polynomial.
Every structure has a -saturated elementary extension for each . Saturated models of the same complete theory and the same cardinality are isomorphic.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
