Definition
Let and be partially ordered sets. A map is Scott-continuous if it satisfies the following. For every directed subset with a supremum in , the image has a supremum in and
Remarks
A Scott-continuous map is monotone: if , apply the definition to , whose supremum is , to get . A map is Scott-continuous if and only if it is continuous for the Scott topologies on and . Example: on the power set of , the map ; the image of the union of a directed family is . Non-example: on the power set of , let if is infinite and if is finite. This map is monotone but not Scott-continuous. The finite sets form a directed family with union , and .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
