Self-injective ring
Builds on RingModule over a ringInjective module
Definition
Let be a ring with identity. The ring is left self-injective if , viewed as a left module over itself by left multiplication, is an injective module. It is right self-injective if is injective as a right module over itself, and self-injective if it is both.
Remarks
Example: for is self-injective. By Baer's criterion it suffices to extend maps from an ideal , with , to . The image satisfies , so for some , and extends . Non-example: is not self-injective. The map , , has no extension , since has no solution in . Left and right self-injectivity are different conditions in general. A ring is quasi-Frobenius if and only if it is left Noetherian and left self-injective.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
