Serre fibration

Definition
Let and be topological spaces and let be a continuous map. Let . The map is a Serre fibration if it has the homotopy lifting property with respect to the cube for every integer . That is, let , let be continuous, and let be continuous with for all . Then there is a continuous with and for all .
Remarks
Example: for spaces and , the projection is a Serre fibration. Given and , the map is a lift with the right start.
Non-example: the inclusion is not a Serre fibration. Take , the map to and ; any lift would satisfy , but the only point of maps to .
Equivalently, has the homotopy lifting property with respect to all CW complexes. Every Hurewicz fibration is a Serre fibration, and every fiber bundle is a Serre fibration.
