Sheaf cohomology in topology

Summary

Sheaf cohomology assigns groups Hq(X,F)H^q(X, F) to a topological space XX and a sheaf FF of abelian groups on XX. They are the right derived functors of the global sections functor. It measures the failure of local sections to glue into global sections. With a constant sheaf it recovers ordinary cohomology on reasonable spaces, and with other sheaves it gives local coefficients, Borel–Moore theory and Poincaré–Verdier duality. The general notion is sheaf cohomology in algebraic geometry and topology.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
