Spherical transform

Summary

The spherical transform of a Gelfand pair (G,K)(G, K) integrates a bi-KK-invariant function against the bounded spherical functions. It is the Gelfand transform of the commutative convolution algebra L1(K\G/K)L^1(K \backslash G / K), so it turns convolution into pointwise multiplication. For G=ℝnG = \R^n with KK trivial it is the ordinary Fourier transform, and for G=ℝn⋊SO(n)G = \R^n \rtimes \mathrm{SO}(n) with K=SO(n)K = \mathrm{SO}(n) it is the Fourier transform of radial functions. For semisimple Lie groups its inversion and Plancherel formula are governed by the Harish-Chandra c-function.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
