Strictly convex space
Builds on Normed vector space
Definition
Let be a normed vector space over or . The space is strictly convex if for all with and ,
Remarks
Equivalent forms: the unit sphere contains no nondegenerate line segment; and with implies for some real . Example: with the Euclidean norm. If and , the parallelogram law gives . Non-example: with . For and the midpoint has norm . Every uniformly convex space is strictly convex, but not conversely. For instance, with the norm is strictly convex. Indeed, equality in the triangle inequality forces equality for . But this space is not reflexive, so it is not uniformly convex by the Milman–Pettis theorem.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
