Thermal contact conductance
Summary
The thermal contact conductance measures how well heat crosses the interface between two solids pressed together. Real surfaces touch only at small spots, so the interface resists heat flow and the temperature jumps across it. The conductance is the heat flux across the interface divided by this temperature jump. Its reciprocal is the contact thermal resistance per unit area.
