Transfer homomorphism

Summary

The transfer is a group homomorphism from a group GG to the abelianisation of a subgroup HH of finite index. It is built from the way GG permutes the left cosets of HH. The transfer gives normal subgroups and abelian quotients of GG from information about HH, usually a Sylow subgroup. It proves results such as Burnside's normal pp-complement theorem and the focal subgroup theorem.
