Vector bundle
Definition
Let be a scheme and an integer. A vector bundle of rank on is a sheaf of -modules with the following property. Every point of has an open neighbourhood such that as -modules. It is also called a locally free sheaf of rank .
Remarks
The free sheaf is a vector bundle of rank , with for every point. On over a field , the skyscraper sheaf with is not a vector bundle. Its stalk at the origin is , which is killed by and so is not a free module over the local ring ; its stalks elsewhere are . A vector bundle is a quasi-coherent sheaf, and it is coherent when is locally Noetherian. To corresponds the geometric vector bundle , whose sheaf of sections is . Hartshorne writes , whose sheaf of sections is , so the placement of the dual differs between sources.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
