Definition
Let be a partially ordered set and let . The element is way below , written , if the following holds. For every directed subset with a supremum such that , there is with .
Remarks
If , then , by taking . If , then . An element is compact if and only if . Example: in with the usual order, holds if and only if or ; for , some exceeds by the definition of the supremum. Non-example: in , , because is directed with supremum and no member is at least .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
