Operator theory Basic notions: bounded and unbounded operators Concept
Adjoint of an unbounded operator
Summary
The adjoint of a densely defined operator between Hilbert spaces is an operator in the opposite direction. Its domain consists of the vectors for which is bounded on the domain of . It extends the Hilbert space adjoint of bounded operators, and the domain of is part of the answer. The adjoint is needed to define self-adjoint unbounded operators, the observables of quantum mechanics.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
