Almost split sequence

Summary

An almost split sequence, or Auslander–Reiten sequence, is a non-split short exact sequence 0→L→E→N→00 \to L \to E \to N \to 0 of modules that is as close to splitting as possible. Every map into NN that is not a split epimorphism lifts to EE. Dually, every map out of LL that is not a split monomorphism extends to EE. Over an Artin algebra, every indecomposable non-projective module NN is the end of one, unique up to isomorphism. These sequences are the building blocks of Auslander–Reiten theory.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
