Definition
Let be an algebraically closed field and let be a finite-dimensional associative algebra over . Let and be finitely generated left -modules. Let be the space of morphisms such that is never an isomorphism, for indecomposable, and . Let be the space spanned by the composites with and for some module . The Auslander–Reiten quiver of is the quiver such that:
- its vertices are the isomorphism classes of indecomposable finitely generated -modules;
- the number of arrows is .
It comes with the partial bijection on vertices, the Auslander–Reiten translation, defined on the classes of non-projective modules.
Remarks
For indecomposable and , the nonzero elements of are exactly the irreducible morphisms. Let be an almost split sequence, with and indecomposable. Then the arrows ending at start exactly at the classes , and the arrows starting at end exactly there. Example: for the path algebra of , the indecomposable modules are , and . The quiver is , with , coming from the almost split sequence . Non-example: there is no arrow , since .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
