Example
Let and . Equip with coordinates and the form of signature . The anti-de Sitter space of radius is the quadric with the metric induced by .
Check: the coordinates , , with , an angle and cover the quadric. A direct substitution gives which has one negative and positive directions, so is Lorentzian.
The sectional curvature is constant and equal to . So , and the space solves with negative cosmological constant . The group acts by isometries, so the space is maximally symmetric.
The coordinate is periodic, so the curves , are closed timelike curves. One usually passes to the universal cover, where ; this is also called anti-de Sitter space and has no closed timelike curves. Its slices are copies of hyperbolic space, as in the hyperboloid model.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
