Beth number

Summary

The beth numbers ℶα\beth_\alpha are the infinite cardinal numbers obtained from ℵ0\aleph_0 by taking power sets again and again, and suprema at limit stages. So ℶ0=ℵ0\beth_0 = \aleph_0, and ℶ1=2ℵ0\beth_1 = 2^{\aleph_0} is the cardinality of the real numbers. The precise definition is by transfinite recursion. The generalized continuum hypothesis says exactly that ℶα=ℵα\beth_\alpha = \aleph_\alpha for every ordinal α\alpha.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
