Biot number

Summary

The Biot number Bi=hL/k\mathrm{Bi} = h L / k is the dimensionless number that compares heat resistance inside a solid body with heat resistance at its surface. Here hh is the heat transfer coefficient at the surface and kk is the thermal conductivity of the solid. A small Biot number means that the temperature inside the body is nearly uniform. This justifies the lumped-element thermal model.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
