Example
Take moles of an ideal gas with constant molar heat capacity at constant pressure and constant heat capacity ratio . Let be two pressures, with pressure ratio . The ideal Brayton cycle has four steps, with temperatures at their start points:
- isentropic compression from to ;
- isobaric heat addition at , absorbing ;
- isentropic expansion from to ;
- isobaric heat rejection at , rejecting , back to the initial state.
The gas returns to its initial state, so this is a thermodynamic cycle. On an isentrope of an ideal gas is constant, so . Hence , and the thermal efficiency is For and , .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
