Caputo fractional derivative

Summary

The Caputo fractional derivative of order α\alpha first differentiates a function n=⌈α⌉n = \ceil{\alpha} times and then applies the Riemann–Liouville integral of order n−αn - \alpha. This order of operations is the reverse of the Riemann–Liouville derivative. Its main advantage is that the derivative of a constant is zero, and fractional differential equations with it take ordinary initial values f(a),f′(a),…f(a), f'(a), \dots. It is a standard tool of fractional calculus in applied models.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
