Chain homotopy

Summary

A chain homotopy between two chain maps f,g ⁣:C∙→D∙f, g \colon C_\bullet \to D_\bullet is a family of maps hn ⁣:Cn→Dn+1h_n \colon C_n \to D_{n+1} with f−g=dh+hdf - g = dh + hd. Chain homotopic maps induce the same maps on homology. The notion is the algebraic shadow of a homotopy between continuous maps, and it is used to define the homotopy category of chain complexes.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
