Homology of a chain complex
Summary
The homology of a chain complex is the sequence of objects . It measures the failure of the complex to be exact: exactly when the complex is exact at . Each chain map induces maps on homology, so homology is a functor. The homology of the singular chain complex of a space is its singular homology. The same construction gives simplicial homology, group homology and derived functors.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
