Coercive bilinear form
Builds on Bilinear formHilbert space
Definition
Let be a real Hilbert space with norm . A bilinear form is coercive if there is a constant such that
Remarks
Example: the inner product is coercive with , since . Non-example: on , the form is not coercive, because for , while . The same definition is used on a real normed space. On a complex Hilbert space, a sesquilinear form is called coercive if for all . Some authors call a coercive form elliptic. In the Lax–Milgram theorem the form is also assumed bounded: for some constant and all .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
