Composition operator
Builds on Function compositionLinear map
Definition
Let be a set and let be a vector space of functions . Let be a map such that for every . The composition operator with symbol is the linear map where is function composition.
Remarks
Linearity is automatic: .
Example: let be the Hardy space of the unit disc and . For in , , whose coefficients are again square-summable; so is defined, and it is the diagonal operator with entries on the basis .
Non-example: does not map into . For , which lies in , the function is not defined on all of , since the series diverges for .
When is a normed space one usually asks in addition that be bounded.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
