Content
Definition
Let be a set and let be a semiring of sets on . More generally, may be any family of subsets of that contains . A content on is a map , with values in the extended real line, such that:
- .
- If are pairwise disjoint and , then
Remarks
Example: on the semiring of bounded intervals in , length is a content. Indeed, if is a disjoint union of finitely many such intervals, their lengths add up to . Non-example: on the same semiring, fails clause 2, since but . On a ring of sets a content is monotone and finitely subadditive. A content on a ring is called a finitely additive measure by many authors. A content that is countably additive is a premeasure. The word content also names a set function used to build Haar measure. It is defined on the compact subsets of a space; it is monotone and finitely subadditive, and additive on disjoint compact sets.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
