Definition
Let be a set and let be an ultrafilter on . Let be a topological space, let be a map, and let . The map converges to along if for every neighbourhood of . When this limit is unique it is written or .
Remarks
This is the filter limit of along the filter .
Example: for and the principal ultrafilter , every converges to along . Indeed, for each neighbourhood of the set contains .
Non-example: let be a non-principal ultrafilter on and in . For any , the set is finite, and a non-principal ultrafilter contains no finite set. So converges to no point along .
If is compact, then every converges along to some point; this is closely related to compactness via ultrafilters. If is Hausdorff, the limit is unique. For a non-principal ultrafilter on , the map on bounded real sequences is linear and multiplicative, and its value lies between and . It is not a Banach limit: it gives the value or , while every Banach limit gives .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
