Convergence of an infinite product
Builds on Infinite productConvergent sequence
Definition
Let be a sequence of complex numbers, and consider the infinite product . The product converges if there is an index such that:
- for all ;
- the partial products converge to a limit as ;
- .
The value of the product is then . A product that does not converge diverges.
Remarks
The value does not depend on the choice of . If the product converges, then , since for . Example: converges with value . With , the partial products are , which tend to . Non-example: has partial products , so it fails clause 3 for every and diverges. The product also diverges, because its tail products are growing powers of with no limit.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
