Cylindric algebra
Builds on Boolean algebraOrdinal number
Definition
Let be an ordinal. A cylindric algebra of dimension is a structure with the following properties. The reduct is a Boolean algebra, each is a unary operation on , and each is an element of . For all and :
- .
- .
- .
- .
- .
- If and , then .
- If , then .
Here is the order of the Boolean algebra.
Remarks
Example: let be a nonempty set and let be the set of all subsets of , with the set operations. Put and . For clause 7, a point in both sets would agree outside with some and some , both with -th coordinate equal to ; then , a contradiction. The other clauses are checked in the same way, and this is a cylindric set algebra.
Non-example: on a Boolean algebra with , taking for all fails clause 2 at .
A cylindric algebra is called representable if it is isomorphic to a subalgebra of a product of cylindric set algebras. For dimension at least , not every cylindric algebra is representable.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
