Dunford–Pettis property
Definition
Let be a real or complex Banach space with continuous dual . The space has the Dunford–Pettis property if the following holds. Let be a sequence in that converges to in the weak topology . Let be a sequence in that converges to in the weak topology . Then .
Remarks
Example: has the Dunford–Pettis property. By the Schur property of , a weakly null sequence in tends to in norm. A weakly convergent sequence is bounded, by the uniform boundedness principle. So .
Non-example: does not have it. The unit vectors tend weakly to , and so do the functionals in the dual of . But for all . More generally, no infinite-dimensional reflexive space has the property.
An equivalent form: every weakly compact operator from to a Banach space maps weakly convergent sequences to norm convergent sequences. The spaces , for compact Hausdorff , and have the property.

- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
