Electrohydrodynamics
Summary
Electrohydrodynamics, or EHD, is the study of fluids moved by electric fields. Free charges and polarisation in the fluid feel electric forces, and these forces drive or deform the flow. It is the electric counterpart of magnetohydrodynamics: magnetic effects are neglected and the electric field is electrostatic. It explains electrospray, the Taylor cone, ionic wind and the deformation of drops in electric fields.
