Fluid mechanics Magnetohydrodynamics and plasma Concept
Magnetohydrodynamics
Summary
Magnetohydrodynamics, or MHD, is the study of electrically conducting fluids in magnetic fields. It couples the Navier–Stokes equations with a low-frequency form of Maxwell's equations. The magnetic field pushes the fluid through the Lorentz force, and the moving fluid bends and stretches the field through the induction equation. It models liquid metals, the Earth's core, the Sun, and plasmas in fusion devices.
