Evolution algebra
Definition
Let be a field and let be a nonassociative algebra over . The algebra is an evolution algebra if it has a basis such that:
- for all with .
- For each , for scalars , only finitely many of them nonzero.
Such a basis is a natural basis, and the are the structure constants of in it.
Remarks
Example: with basis , products and , . Both clauses hold by construction. This algebra is not associative: , while .
Non-example: the algebra of matrices. In an evolution algebra the products of basis vectors satisfy , so by bilinearity the algebra is commutative. Matrix multiplication is not commutative, so no basis of satisfies the clauses.
A real evolution algebra is called nonnegative when all its structure constants are nonnegative.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
