Formally smooth map
Summary
A map of commutative rings is formally smooth when it has a lifting property. Every map from to a quotient by an ideal with must lift to a map to . This is the algebraic form of an idea from geometry. On a smooth space, there is no obstruction to extending a point to a small thickening. Together with finite presentation it gives the notion of a smooth morphism of rings, and with uniqueness of the lift it gives formally étale maps.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
