Inner model
Definition
Work in ZF, and let be a class. The class is an inner model if:
- is transitive: if and , then .
- contains every ordinal.
- satisfies each axiom of ZF, that is, the relativization holds for each axiom of ZF.
Remarks
The universe and the constructible universe are inner models. For , clause 1 holds because each level is transitive, and clause 2 holds because . The set is a non-example: it is transitive, but it fails clause 2, since . Clause 3 is a schema, one statement for each axiom, because satisfaction in a proper class is not expressed by a single formula. A transitive proper class that satisfies ZF contains all ordinals, so some authors drop clause 2 and ask instead that be a proper class. Some authors ask for the axioms of ZFC; the name "inner model of ZFC" makes this choice explicit.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
