k-vertex-connected graph
Builds on GraphConnected graphInduced subgraph
Definition
Let be a positive integer and let be a finite graph. The graph is -vertex-connected, or -connected, if:
- has more than elements.
- For each set with fewer than elements, the induced subgraph on is connected.
The vertex connectivity is the largest integer such that is -connected, and if there is no such .
Remarks
A graph is -connected if and only if it is connected and has at least vertices. A -connected graph is also -connected for each . Example: the cycle graph with is -connected: it has vertices, and removing one vertex leaves a path, which is connected. It is not -connected, since removing two non-adjacent vertices disconnects it when , and has only vertices. Non-example: a tree with at least vertices is not -connected, because removing a vertex that is not a leaf disconnects it. The complete graph has ; clause 1 is what prevents it from being -connected. Every -connected graph has minimum degree at least .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
