Lebesgue–Stieltjes measure

Summary

A Lebesgue–Stieltjes measure is a measure on the real line built from a non-decreasing, right-continuous function FF, so that the interval (a,b](a, b] gets measure F(b)−F(a)F(b) - F(a). Every locally finite Borel measure on ℝ\R arises this way. For F(x)=xF(x) = x it is Lebesgue measure, and for the distribution function of a random variable it is the law of that variable. Integration against it is Lebesgue–Stieltjes integration, which extends the Riemann–Stieltjes integral.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
