Natural density

Summary

The natural density, or asymptotic density, of a set AA of positive integers is a limit as n→∞n \to \infty. It is the limit of the proportion of {1,…,n}\set{1, \dots, n} that lies in AA. It makes precise statements such as "half of all integers are even" or "almost all integers are composite". Not every set has a natural density, but every set has an upper and a lower density. Many results of number theory, such as the Chebotarev density theorem, are statements about densities.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
