Poisson's equation in electrostatics

Summary

Poisson's equation in electrostatics is the equation Δφ=−ρ/ε0\Delta \varphi = -\rho / \varepsilon_0 for the electric potential φ\varphi of a charge density ρ\rho. It is the case of Poisson's equation that comes from physics. It packs Coulomb's law and Gauss's law into one second-order partial differential equation. With boundary conditions, it is the main tool to find potentials near conductors.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
