Ramification group

Summary

The ramification groups of a finite Galois extension of local fields form a decreasing chain of normal subgroups G0⊇G1⊇G2⊇⋯G_0 \supseteq G_1 \supseteq G_2 \supseteq \cdots of its Galois group. The group G0G_0 is the inertia group, and G1G_1 is the wild inertia group. The chain measures how deeply the extension is ramified. It controls the different and the conductor of the extension.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
