Residuated mapping

Summary

A residuated mapping is a monotone map f ⁣:P→Qf \colon P \to Q between partially ordered sets with a special property. For each yy, the inequality f(x)≤yf(x) \le y has a largest solution xx. Equivalently, ff is the lower adjoint of a Galois connection; its upper adjoint is called the residual of ff. Residuated maps are the basis of residuated lattices, which model division in ordered algebra and implication in logic.

What this page needs for W1

  • an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
  • a source with a locator (0 of 1)

The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
