Riesz mean
Builds on Summability methodSeriesPartial sum
Definition
Let be a strictly increasing sequence of real numbers with and , and let . Let be a series of complex numbers. For real , the Riesz mean of type and order is the finite sum The series is summable to if as .
Remarks
Example: take , and an integer cut-off . Then where are the partial sums, because occurs in exactly the partial sums . So these Riesz means are the Cesàro means of the partial sums.
Non-example: if , the sequence is increasing but bounded, so the condition fails. Then for every term enters , which is not a finite sum, and the definition does not apply.
For Dirichlet series one usually takes for .

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
