Separable degree
Summary
The separable degree of an algebraic extension counts the embeddings of into an algebraically closed field. Only the embeddings that extend a fixed embedding of are counted. For a finite extension it divides the degree , and the quotient is a power of the characteristic exponent, called the inseparable degree. It equals exactly when is separable, and it equals the degree of the separable closure of in . It measures how much of an extension is visible to Galois theory.

What this page needs for W1
- an inventory row: the row of the inventory that the node accounts for (0 of 1)
- a source with a locator (0 of 1)
The writing levels say how complete the text of a page is. They do not measure its truth.
