Solving a linear system with an inverse matrix
Statement
Let be an invertible matrix with inverse . Then for each vector of the right size, the system of linear equations is consistent. The vector is a solution of it. So the solution of is given by .
Remarks
The check is direct: . This is why an inverse, once known, solves every system with the same matrix . Uniqueness also holds, since gives .
